This Omega Art Deco tank-style rectangular wristwatch ref. CK 730 from 1935-1936 embodies the geometric elegance that defined the Art Deco movement. The CK 730 was produced in multiple case variations and with two different movements: the earlier caliber 20F (1931-1935) and the later caliber T17 (1935-1943). These watches catered to the contemporary taste for angular, architectural forms that contrasted with the round pocket watches of previous decades. The stainless steel case measures 22,3mm in width excluding crown by 36.2mm in height including lugs, a size which is wearable on modern wrists. The case shows only a minimal wear. The pressure locked back is correctly signed and numbered.
The original mineral glass is in an excellent condition. The original silvered dial with an Art Deco / sector style is in a very good untouched condition, it shows only a light, uniform aging, with small seconds at six. Powering this timepiece is the Omega manufacture caliber T17, introduced in 1934 and designed by Charles Perregaux under Henri Gerber's direction. This manually-wound, tonneau- shaped movement comprised 15 jewels operating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and delivered a revolutionary 50-hour power reserve, unmatched by any Omega mechanical wristwatch movement until caliber 8500 appeared in 2006.
