The 1954 Breitling Premier Arbitro Ref. 781 occupies a discreet yet important position in the heritage of Breitling as the Arbitro line is part of a lesser-known branch focused on chronographs for football Referees with the 45 minutes counter set to measure a football game first and second part, this watch is in a very good condition and just serviced.
Given that Arbitro is Italian for “Referee” we can assume this series was manufactured for the Italian market, where football has always been a popular sport The case is 18 kt pink gold and measures 37.8 mm in diameter excluding the crown. It is in a very good, untouched and lightly worn condition, with only normal signs of wear, the caseback closes firmly and has the correct serial numbers, gold and manufacturer’s markings.
The plexiglass crystal is in pristine condition. The original silvered dial with applied Roman hour markers is in a very good condition, it shows a light and even time patina and some smaller oxidations, The movement inside is the manual-wind Venus 175 calibre, a 17-jewel column-wheel chronograph movement which was widely used by Breitling to power its chronographs, it`s a reliable caliber with incabloc shock-protection on the balance wheel, the incastar fine regulation mechanism, and it`s in a proper working order The strap is new.
This watch has been serviced in-house, is in full working order, and will be delivered with a six- month guarantee and certificate of originality.
