Coda has always been a special entry in the Led Zeppelin catalogue. Originally released in 1982, it came out after John Bonham’s death, at a moment when the band had already decided to end their journey. The album was meant as a farewell document: a collection of leftover studio recordings, outtakes, and unreleased material that showcased Bonzo’s power one last time. In many ways, it was a tribute: “everything that was left after Bonzo.”
The 2015 remastered edition, prepared and supervised by Jimmy Page, transforms Coda into something far more expansive. Page dug deep into the archives and added even more rarities, alternate takes, and early versions of well‑known tracks. One of the highlights is the inclusion of two extraordinary recordings made with the Bombay Orchestra in the 1970s, where Led Zeppelin reinterpreted their own songs with Indian classical instrumentation.
This edition is not just a remaster; it’s a curated historical expansion that turns Coda into a full‑fledged archival release, offering fans a richer and more complete picture of the band’s final creative years.
