Peradam is a distortion module with an internal sidechain – essentially the "crazy brother" of a compressor. The input signal is split: one half is routed to a VCA, the other half to a sidechain rollercoaster.
First, its phase is modulated, before a full ring modulation occurs, creating a signal with twice the frequency. This signal then modulates the amplitude of the original, generating complex self-distortions.
This output is routed to a dual-band drive circuit, similar to the one in Cosmix, before the signal reaches the soft-clipper output stage. Things get really wild when this output is fed back into the input.
At high feedback levels, the module even enters self-oscillation, generating all sorts of crazy sounds. Modulating all these parameters results in a wide range of distortions, from subtle saturation to complete destruction.
The signal path is very clean, as the distortion is achieved via a sidechain instead of simply cranking up the gain. A blend control allows you to further fine-tune your sounds.
The module is brand new and unused.
