Beautiful, fully restored turntable. The Beogram 6500 is identical to the 5500, but differed in that the RIAA equalizing amplifier was built into the turntable rather than the Beomaster, meaning the Beogram 6500 provided an equalized line-level output ( This allowed cables up to 10 meters long to be used between the Beogram and the Beomaster, meaning that the two units could now be placed more flexibly ) . It can therefore be connected to any AUX input. The design is derived from the Beogram 4000, but the turntable is completely different from its predecessor. The restoration includes both the electronics and the motor and was carried out by one of the leading experts on vintage B&Os in Europe. All degraded rubber or plastic parts have been replaced with high-quality parts from a leading Danish company. The Beogram 6500 will be tested with a B&O hi-fi system before collection. Manual, cleaning brushes and dust cloth are included.
The main problem with these iconic turntables is the stylus, which is often decades old and it's unclear how long it will last. The problem has been solved with a new (still sealed) stylus under warranty: a Soundsmith SMMC 4, which will be opened and tested when the Beogram 6500 is collected.
Private collection.
