The well-known circuit design of Neve diode bridge compressors, which use LED-diodes to achieve a much warmer sound than VCA compressors, served as inspiration for the LedPressor. If you amplify the input signal in the "normal" range you get a rather "unobtrusive" compression experience. If you increase the gain until the "Nuke" LED lights up, dynamic magic is created and the signal gets its characteristic musical "fatness" through harmonic overtones. LedPressor shines on synth or vocal tracks as well as on the drum bus or master track. The signal is condensed and assertive without sounding flat and lifeless.
Signals with different timbres and dynamics get a lot of "glue", even parallel compression is possible via mix control and CV-functionality. A jumper on the back allows switching of the compression behavior between "Feed Forward" and "Feedback" providing even more variation. In addition, LedPressor can also be used as a pure saturation tool.
