Almost New
Reykholt is a medium‑light worker‑placement board game by Uwe Rosenberg (2018) for 1–4 players, built around racing on a tourism track by growing and “selling” vegetables in Iceland.
Core concept
Players run geothermal greenhouses in Iceland, planting and harvesting five vegetable types (tomato, lettuce, mushroom, cabbage, carrot) to move along a tourism track instead of earning classic victory points.
The game plays over 7 rounds and whoever is furthest on the tourism track at the end wins, so it feels more like a race than a typical point‑salad euro.
How it plays
Each round has four phases:
Work time: place 3 workers on action spaces to gain greenhouses, plant, harvest, or get special effects.
Harvest time: take 1 vegetable from each greenhouse.
Tourism time: spend specific vegetables to advance on the track, sometimes chaining multiple spaces.
Homecoming: clear workers and reset for the next round.
Greenhouses auto‑fill: plant 1 vegetable into a greenhouse and the rest of the spaces fill with the same type, which then trickle out over future harvests.
