The Nikon D5600 is the newest of Nikon's upper entry-level 24 million pixel DSLR cameras. It packs a lot of impressive features and settings into what is meant to be a "consumer" DSLR, and the result is Excellent.

Nikon added GPS, WiFi and a slightly sharper screen.

The newest Nikon D5600 builds upon prior cameras in the lineup mainly by adding Nikon's SnapBridge, which is a way to sync photos (most commonly 2 megapixel JPEGs) to your phone automatically while taking pictures. SnapBridge also lets you see live view remotely and take pictures.

It meets my expectations for what a modern entry-level DSLR should do, and it is hard to deny that the D5600's image quality is anything short of excellent.

It can also be a good camera for pros who want a backup, or something small for traveling, which still accepts Nikon lenses. If that is your situation, the Nikon D5600 is better than the cheaper Nikon D3400, which has the same flaws and additional compromises as well.

You can still use the D5600 for advanced photography.
