The ring is made in Stetling Silver 925, it holds one Ruby, of approx. 10 carats which received common treatments as for example the application of heat, to improve color, remove purple tinge, blue patches, and silk. These heat treatments typically occur around temperatures of 1800 °C. Commonly used treatment are used to improve a ruby’s color, remove color zoning , and improve clarity.
Today, the majority of all the rubies in the marketplace have been heat-treated or thermally enhanced. A Ruby this size, if of high end quality, would be priced to several million Swiss francs. Therefore the price asked is justified to the stone quality. Nonetheless this is a Ruby. Size 58.
