This is the three-lug version of the Leica M5, featuring three strap attachment points rather than the two found on earlier examples.
The camera has been fitted with an Arte di Mano replacement covering.
The camera works perfectly mechanically. The controls operate as expected, and the camera is functional.
The viewfinder is bright and clear, with no visible fogging or fungus.
The built-in light meter is working and has been tested.
I compared its readings with those of my Sekonic Litemaster Pro L-478DR in an evenly illuminated environment. Under these conditions, the Leica M5’s readings were usually within approximately one stop of the Sekonic.
This comparison is an informal test and should not be interpreted as professional calibration. I do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of the light meter.
As expected with spot metering, high-contrast scenes require careful interpretation of the reading. The measured area and its brightness relative to the rest of the scene will influence the resulting exposure.
The meter is functional, but the camera is sold without any guarantee regarding the accuracy of its exposure readings.
Battery
The battery currently installed in the camera was replaced on 11 October 2026. Two additional spare batteries are included in the sale.
The camera’s appearance is exactly as shown in the photographs. Please examine the pictures carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
