Die Feigensorte „Black Madeira“ gilt weithin als die aromatischste überhaupt und übt eine besondere Faszination auf Feigenzüchter und -sammler aus. Manche bezeichnen sie als „Königin der Feigen“. Die Feigen reifen spät (September/Oktober). Sollte der Topf im Winter vor Frost geschützt oder nach dem Laubfall in einem kühlen Keller gelagert werden. Die erste nennenswerte Obsternte wird im Jahr 2027 erwartet.
