Unverwüstlicher George Jones: Bevor sich der altgediente Musiker ins Baptisten-Hospital von Nashville einquartierte, um drei Bypässe installieren zu lassen, rief er noch einmal diverse Kolleginnen und Kollegen ins Studio: Marty Stuart, Alan Jackson, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, Keith Richards, Dolly Parton, Mark Knopfler und andere. Bei den "Brandley Barn Sessions" beweist Jones, daß er mit der jüngeren Country-Garde noch sehr gut mithalten kann. Kraftvoll und ideenreich präsentiert er elf Duette, jedes ein Kleinod, und selbst das so oft gehörte "White Lightning" klingt zusammen mit Mark Knopfler so frisch wie am ersten Tag.
