Francesco Messina is considered one of the greatest figurative sculptors of the 20th century. He is the creator of some of Italy's greatest monuments: Saint Catherine of Siena in the Castel Sant'Angelo, the Way of the Cross in San Giovanni Rotondo, the Statue of Pius XII in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. His works can be found in the world's great museums.
