“Cuba Post Castro” is a rarely seen hand-signed and numbered Cuban screen-printed poster designed in 2008, the year Fidel Castro turned over the Cuban presidency to his brother Raul. Only 50 copies were made.
This bold 27- by 19-inch Pop Art poster addresses a subject that in 2008 was rarely discussed, at least publicly, in Cuba: What will happen on the island after Fidel Castro dies?
This limited-edition poster--screen-printed in Havana--was designed by award-winning Cuban painter, illustrator and graphic artist Arístides Hernández (known as ARES). In addition to his cutting edge poster art, ARES has published 18 books and illustrated 170 others, winning more than 125 awards in Europe, the Americas and Middle East. Fun fact: ARES also has a medical degree with a specialty in psychiatry.
