Selling a “like-new” uConsole with upgraded internals. The device was never really used, I just had fun assembling it all together. Original purchase price of the components is 470 CHF, but they are currently all globally sold out.
ClockworkPi uConsole is a personal cyberdeck made out of anodized aluminium, offering a full-featured keyboard and trackball. Ideal for your mobile sysadmin, pentesting, or gaming needs (100+ FPS in SuperTuxKart). Supports external screens over Micro HDMI. Capable of 4k video playback.
Upgrades:
- Raspberry Pi CM4 swapped for Radxa CM5 with RK3588S2 8-core CPU, 6TOPs NPU, 16GB RAM and 128GB eMMC storage. This chip is 4x faster than Raspi CM4, and 2x faster than Raspi CM5
- Radxa CM5 carrier board from HackerGadgets for improved compatibility
- USB-C extension board from Tindie store
- WiFi (with monitor mode) and sound cards routed internally through a hidden USB hub
- 2x High capacity 18650 cells
- Tempered glass screen protector applied
Included is also one spare trackball, and original packaging.
As the Radxa CM5 is not an officially supported board, some limitations apply. These are all software issues with the currently installed OS, which might be already solved in newer builds (untested).
1) Headphone jack not working, audio plays through the built-in speakers or over HDMI
2) The external USB-C ports can be used for charging the uConsole as well as powering external devices, but data communication doesn’t work well.
3) Full device shutdown requires a 10s power button hold once Linux is powered off.
