As good as new 2014 American Fender Jim Root signature Stratocaster. Original case included.
The original EMG 81/60 pickups have been replaced with the EMG 57/66 set - these feel a little more "organic" while still retaining the EMG typical "whip" on palm mutes.
The wiring is EMG's Quick Connect, so it's very easy to swap (active) pickups, that goes for EMG's but also for Seymour Duncan's Blackouts for example.
For heavy, molten nu-metal Strat® style, the Jim Root Stratocaster delivers crushing detuned tone with a stark utilitarian look. The towering Slipknot guitarist joined us in creating a huge-sounding signature Strat model that complements his heavy playing style, and it's a monster - right down to its compound-radius fingerboard (12" to 16"), EMG® active humbucking pickups, sparse control layout and more. Brutal.
- Mahogany body with sharp radius
- Modern "C"-shaped neck profile and large headstock
- Ebony or maple compound-radius fingerboard (12" to 16") with 22 jumbo frets and no position inlays (side-dot inlays only)
- EMG® 66 (neck) and 57 (bridge) active humbucking pickups
- Single control knob (volume) and three-way pickup switch
- Hardtail strings-thru-body bridge
EMG 57/66 set:
A true original, the 57 is a bridge humbucker pickup designed for today’s guitar player regardless of style or genre. The unique combination of Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces evoke an unmistakably PAF quality in its tone. The active attributes provide the headroom and punch necessary to deliver unparalleled definition and presence.
The 66 is a result of pickup design innovation inspired by the specific needs and requests of today’s players. Ceramic pole pieces provide articulate clarity in the upper register and expansive lows while the preamp design offers warm, smooth mid-range.
