A set of 2 small serving platter from Aluminia Denmark
Very delicate faience with its usual crackle - one of the platters has it all over while the other only partial, can be seen in photos. Both have the original A shape with 3 waves marking plus the 2188 stamped on.
Based on data found on danish websites this an oblong platter Anne Sofie style (white faience decorated with gold edge and small colorful flowers) / design Nils Thorsson produced during the 1940 - 1968 period in the factory from Alma / Feston
One of the two has the decoration colors more vivid compared to the other.
Length circa 24 cm, width circa 13cm, about 2cm height
One has a little chip on the edge but on the back side, hardly visible on the front. The other has a very small defect as well on the back - all can be seen in the photos, of course these are very old faience pieces.
Aluminia was a Danish factory of faience or earthenware pottery, established in Copenhagen in 1863. Philip Schou (1838-1922) was the founding owner of the Aluminia factory. In 1882, the owners of Aluminia purchased the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory. The factories were operated independently under their respective trade names until 1969, when the use of the Aluminia name was ended.
