This set is being sold As-Is for restoration, parts, or display due to a broken hinge. Despite the damage, it features excellent, crisp inspector verification marks (fleur-de-lis / rosette style hallmarks) stamped inside the bottom of both cups, making it a valuable piece for collectors of early metrology and scales.
Condition Report:
Hinge & Lid: The rear hinge is broken/snapped, meaning the lid is completely detached from the main body. However, the lid still sits perfectly and flush on top of the bucket for display, and the front latch mechanism remains intact.
Completeness: This is a partial/incomplete set. It includes the outer master bucket and one (1) inner nesting cup weight.
Cosmetics: Beautiful, uncleaned natural aged patina with minor surface scratches, small dings, and verdigris in the crevices consistent with age. No other major structural cracks.
