Obverse (front): Crown above the Dutch royal coat of arms with the lion. The denomination "1 C" (1 cent) appears on either side of the shield.
Reverse (back): the inscription "NEDER. INDIE" (abbreviation for Nederlandsch-Indië, or Dutch East Indies).
This coin was struck for use in the Dutch East Indies (modern-day Indonesia) during the reign of King William I of the Netherlands.
