Bought this one in Lausanne in March 2002 with a friend, while doing my first winter season abroad. My friend, a DJ at the local discotheque, who bought another one for himself, convinced me this machine would be an excellent tool to get into music production and take my first steps towards becoming a DJ.
During this season, being a very young man myself, I wanted to pursue a DJ career and, as my friend was already working as a DJ, I thought this was the perfect time to start learning about music production and electronic music. Unfortunately, things didn't quite go according to plan. I never really figured out how to use it properly, and after taking it out of the box only a handful of times, it went back into its original box.
And then... I simply forgot about it. It has been stored ever since, and although I never thought about selling it, I always kept the original box in good condition and handled it carefully whenever it was moved or stored. I came across it again recently and thought: well, it's been sitting here for more than 20 years — maybe it's time for someone else to actually make some music with it. So after more than 20 years, I think it would be a good idea to let someone else give it the life it deserves.
The RM1X itself has seen very little use and is in exceptionally clean condition for its age. It comes complete with the original box, manuals and documentation, and even the original purchase invoice from 2002. I will provide plenty of photos so you can judge the condition for yourself. I prefer pickup, but if you really want me to ship it, then I’ll have to check the shipping rates.
