Punching is a quick and easy way to Create custom or mass shapes out of paper, foil, cardboard or even chipboard with a machine and die instead of cutting by hand. What cuts my material? A die cutting machine is always required for die cutting, although it is not the machine itself that physically cuts your material. Your chosen die (such as a Sizzix Bigz, Thinlits, or Framelits die) is responsible for cutting the design. The machine only applies the pressure. So if you're not sure if you can die-cut a specific material, check the compatibility of your die and not your machine. How do I use a Thinlits die? It's easy. Grab your Big Shot Machine and Standard Cutting Pads to get started. First, take a cutting mat and place your Thinlits die on it. Then place your chosen material on top of the cube. Complete your sandwich with your second cutting pad placed on top of the Thinlits die and select your material and you're good to go. A roll through your die-cutting machine reveals your design. Note: An Adapter Platform is required when using Thinlits dies with any of our Sizzix Big Shot machines. Just place these under the sandwich you've created and you're good to go.
