"The Phoenix fuzz is a harmonically rich fuzz with a plethora of sounds on tap. It has an aggressive but pleasing growl, while maintaining high end artifacts that ensure it won’t get lost in the mix. The tone control functions throughout the sweep, allowing you to enhance both rhythm and lead playing.
Based on the classic 3 transistor circuits of the golden era of fuzz, the Phoenix delivers the bite, body and sustain you’d expect. The Tone control is unique in that it interacts with the final clipping stage to not only adjust the tone but also vary the clipping from symmetrical to asymmetrical, giving a wide variation in harmonic content. The circuit is very reactive to the input signal, making the guitar volume knob an expressive gain control.
