For sale: Epson R-D1 digital rangefinder camera. The R-D1 was the world’s first digital rangefinder, launching in 2004 by Seiko-Epson in collaboration with Cosina, two years before the first digital rangefinder Leica, the M8. CCD sensor, Leica M mount, mechanical shutter-cocking lever, analog Seiko status gauge cluster.
Couldn’t tested it fully, but was able to take photos, LCD/menu works, shutter lever works, analogue gauge cluster works. Comes with three batteries and a charger (both aftermarket).
Besides being an already unique collector’s camera, this one is a pre-launch sample unit, making it even more rare and interesting - #000250.
Please note:
- as a 20+ years camera, it probably needs some minor rangefinder alignment, and see some fine dust in the viewer
- notice some wear and tear
- there is a tiny crack on the light gathering window, barely visible / only on the outside (see photos)
- the rubber around the eyepiece is worn (see photos)
