Here is a vintage 1980's Eberhard & Co. Replica small-size sterling silver gold-plated chronograph, completely original and in a very good untouched condition Ref. 36008 The Eberhard Replica chronograph series originated as a deliberate homage to the manufacture's military heritage, recreating the timepieces supplied to the Regia Marina Italiana (Italian Royal Navy) during the 1930s. The Replica collection, launched in the early 1980s, represented an archival reinterpretation rather than vintage stock, manufactured in limited production runs that faithfully reproduced the aesthetic characteristics of these pre-war timepieces.
The series was manufactured with period- appropriate construction methods, including sterling silver cases and manual-wind movements, to maintain authenticity with the original specifications while incorporating refinements in finishing consistent with 1980s manufacturing standards.
The original laquered white dial is in an excellent condition, it shows only a light and even time patina and no oxidation. The original Eberhard signed and numbered sterling silver .925 gold-plated case measures 33 mm, original crown excluded, and is in an excellent condition throughout. This chronograph has been sitting in a safe for many years, so the gold plating has developed some surface oxidations; these can be left as a signt of the time passed, or can be buffered off. The chronograph movement, based on the qualitative Lemania LWO 1873 caliber, works correctly and keeps precise timekeeping.
