Universal Genève Polerouter Sub Reference 20369-1 (Circa 1965)
This exceptional first-generation Polerouter Sub represents a significant piece of diving watch history, featuring the distinctive EPSA supercompressor case construction. The timepiece maintains excellent mechanical health, having been professionally serviced prior to acquisition from a respected US-based vintage watch dealer in 2021, and has only been worn twice since purchase.
Technical Details
The watch features a 42mm stainless steel case housing the innovative automatic microrotor movement. The black gilt-gloss dial displays the characteristic luminescent indexes and distinctive tritium dots, complemented by the functional inner rotating bezel operated via the top crown. The case houses a double-crown system typical of supercompressor designs, allowing separate control of time-setting and internal bezel rotation.
Provenance
The watch comes complete with a certificate of authenticity from the original US dealer, acquired in 2021.
Condition
The watch operates flawlessly, having been serviced prior to my acquisition and worn only twice since purchase. The internal bezel moves smoothly.
