An outstanding example of one of Rolex's iconic Watches
Model 3131
Dating from the early 1950's, the Case is solid 14K (585) Rose Gold with its original Crown. The Case measures 38 mm by 32 mm diameter (excluding the Screw-down Crown) and is of a heavy gauge Gold. The Dial is all original and in remarkably good condition for its age.
Its been fitted with a new, light Brown Rolex Ostrich Leather Band. Its also been fitted with an original Rolex 18K (750) Gold Buckle and comes in an original Rolex Box.
Signed on the Dial: ROLEX; OYSTER PERPETUAL, CHRONOMETRE, SWISS MADE; signed, hallmarked and numbered on the inside of the Case; and signed on both the Movement, the Crown and the Buckle.
Last year, it had a full service (with some replacement of parts via Rolex). This work was undertaken by a specialist local Watchmaker and comes with their 12 month Guarantee now expired although the watch has not been in use since then.
A redacted copy of the Invoice/Guarantee (for CHF 950) is illustrated and the Original (incorporating both my name/address and that of the Watchmaker's Company) will be shipped to the winning bidder together with the Watch.
The watch, as stated, is fully functional and keeps excellent time; given the overall superlative condition, a better example won't be found anywhere. All realistic offers will be considered.
