The other half of this MBP was sold in 2020. It was the model with no touchbar. The defect can be somewhat identified in the picture by the discoloration pattern on the right side. I do not remember how it happened anymore, but my wife thinks it was that she closed something between the screen and the MBP and something cracked internally but the outer glass remained intact.
Aside from this main defect, there are a few small scratches that have removed some of the coating plus regular light scratches from regular use. None of which would be visible in normal use with screen on.
