Dark Ages verbindet Elemente eines 4X- und Zivilisationsspiels mit Eurogame-Mechanismen. Dark Ages combines elements of a 4X and civilization-building game with Eurogame mechanisms. One of its most interesting features is the innovative action system: the actions taken by other players can influence your own options and potentially provide you with additional actions. This creates a highly interactive game with a huge variety of strategic possibilities.

The game comes with a large number of beautifully detailed miniatures representing cities, fortresses, buildings, and different types of troops, as well as numerous cards, tokens, and modules that provide plenty of variety and replayability.
