A fantastical reinterpretation of the traditional crystal menagerie, Baccarat ZOO transforms decorative art into a vivid parade of personality, play, and function. Conceived by Jaime Hayon in 2011, this whimsical bestiary fuses the brilliance of cut crystal with the smooth tactility of tinted porcelain—matte on the outside, glossy within—to give life to three expressive animals: a monkey, a duck, and a bear. Part objet d’art, part functional receptacle, each creature balances elegance with joy, inviting us into a world where fantasy meets form with a wink.
The Clear crystal version of the Zoo monkey has a ridged white porcelain base, made by Lladro, and a gold finish. The crystal surface is made by Baccarat. The figurines are signed by Jaime Hayon and Baccarat on the underside of the porcelain base.
