John Howe s'est personnellement rendus à la sérigraphie Uldry à Berne pour l'impression de son illustration. Uldry est une entreprise familiale depuis 50ans. Ici s'imprime les affiches des institutions culturelles de renommée mais sont aussi passés les oeuvres d'artistes tel que HR Giger, Niki de Saint Phalle ou Jean Tinguely.

John a flashé sur un procédé très particulier, utilisé pour des séries utlra limitée d'artistes ou de reproductions d'oeuvres d'art.

La lithographie est imprimée sur un papier FineArt Prints 310gr. C'est un papier artiste avec une superface noble mat et veloutée. Il est spécialement résistant au vieillissement. L’impression se fera finalement en numérique avec une machine très spéciale 11 couleurs (pour ceux qui ne s'y connaissent pas trop, les traditionnelles impressions se font en 4 couleurs, 5 lorsque la machine est déjà nettement supérieure. Clairement, avec 11 couleurs la qualité d'impression est incroyable).

Ce partenariat a donc donner vie à un pièce d'histoire et à une affiche plus que collector limitée à 170 exemplaires numérotés main par John Howe et bien entendu dédicacés par ces soins.

Lithography designed by JOHN HOWE, an artist and illustrator known worldwide for his work on the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies.

John Howe personally went to the Uldry silkscreen print shop in Bern for the printing of his illustration. Uldry has been a family business for 50 years. The company prints the posters of renowned cultural institutions, but also prints the works of artists such as HR Giger, Niki de Saint Phalle or Jean Tinguely.

John has a very special process, used for limited series of artists or reproductions of works of art. The lithograph is printed on 310gr FineArt Prints paper. It is an artist paper with a noble matt and velvety surface. It is especially resistant to ageing.

The printing will finally be done digitally with a very special 11-colour machine (for those who are not too familiar with it, traditional printing is done in 4 colours, 5 when the machine is already much better. Clearly, with 11 colours the printing quality is incredible).

This partnership has thus given life to a piece of history and a more than collector's lithography limited to 170 copies hand-numbered by John Howe and of course autographed by him
