The EMT 938 is not just a turntable- it is the pinnacle of a lineage that supplied the world's most demanding radio studios. This is the final model developed by the original EMT, sharing the same motor and drive electronics as the revered EMT 948, it delivers genuine EMT quality in a more compact form. Its quartz- lock direct drive launches the platter to full speed in under 500 milliseconds- precise enough to cue a single syllable in a groove. This is a machine built to a cost- no- object professional standard, not to a consumer price point.

This unit is fitted with the legendary EMT 929 tonearm- widely regarded as one of the finest broadcast tonearms ever made- paired with the Pre-Preamp board. The complete, optimised signal chain as EMT intended. The front panel features channel level controls for both audio channels, and the rear offers balanced XLR output connectivity along with a voltage selector for worldwide compatibility.
What has been addressed in this unit: Full recap of all three internal boards (Pre-Preamp board, main amplifier board, and RPM/speed control board); operating panel board fully recapped; all tantalum capacitors replaced (prone to go bad with time); 9 ICs known to deteriorate with age replaced as a preventive measure; fresh thermal paste applied to both transistors; Play button lamp replaced; channel level adjustment potentiometers cleaned. Dust cover lightly polished. The turntable runs and operates perfectly in every respect.
Minor age- related dints are present, consistent with a professional instrument of its era.
Collection and test are preferred, as this is a precision instrument weighing approximately 25 kg.
